Xpress Wellness is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead our Accounting function. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, results-driven leader responsible for managing the integrity of the general ledger and the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting. This role is critical in supporting our growth and ensuring compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and regulatory standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day accounting functions including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Treasury and Tax.
Lead and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Ensure all the company's financial practices are in compliance with statuary regulations and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606.
Drive system enhancements and process automation to improve the efficiency and scalability of the accounting function.
Build, mentor and manage a high-performing accounting team that supports the company's goals and scalability.
Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, Legal and HR to support the strategic initiatives and financial planning.
Develop, implement and monitor internal controls, accounting policies and standard operating procedures to safeguard assets and support high-growth environment.
Monitor and manage cash flow, particularly as it relates to the de novo clinic funding process, managing within the company's financial covenants and ensuring good relationships with vendors and contractors as appropriate.
Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk.
Manager external audits, coordinate with tax advisors and ensure full compliance with GAAP, tax regulations and other financial reporting requirements.

Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance is required. Master's is preferred.
CPA License Required
Experience:
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
Deep knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
Experience in multi-site healthcare or MSO environment is strongly preferred.
Experience working in a PE-backed or high-growth environment is a plus.
Must be knowledgeable of employment laws.
Skills:
Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., Netsuite, Sage Intaact) and Microsoft Excel.
