Join a team of Research, Design, Test, & Evaluation (RDT&E) professionals who are identifying, developing, demonstrating, and assessing technologies and concepts to help protect America’s homeland in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Office of Mission and Capability Support (MCS). Amentum is seeking multiple Data Scientists to support mission-critical analytics functions. The successful candidates will apply scientific methods and analytical techniques to solve complex operational problems, analyze systems and processes, and deliver actionable insights. Position is on-site around the NCR. Essential Responsibilities: Apply data science principles, concepts, and practices to analyze systems, processes, and operational challenges using scientific methods and techniquesPerform analytics on complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support organizational decision-makingDevelop and implement statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization solutions to address operational problemsAnalyze, interpret, and apply data science methodologies in various situations, recommending solutions to senior analystsPrepare comprehensive reports, documentation, and correspondence that clearly communicate factual and procedural informationConduct minor phases of larger analytical assignments, ensuring quality and alignment with project objectivesAnalyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and develop practical, evidence-based solutionsCollaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across functional areasPlan and organize work to meet project deadlines and organizational prioritiesContinually expand knowledge of data science techniques and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities Minimum Requirements: U.S. citizenshipMust be able to pass DHS entry on duty (EOD) requirements to start and maintain Public Trust suitability statusBachelor's degree and 5+ years experience in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related fieldExperience applying scientific methods to analyze systems, processes, and operational problemsKnowledge of mathematics and statistical analysisDemonstrated ability to prepare clear reports and documentationExperience analyzing and interpreting data to recommend practical solutionsStrong problem-solving skills with ability to identify significant factors and gather relevant dataExcellent collaboration and communication skillsAbility to plan and organize work effectivelyPosition will require occasional travel.
