Overview Engineer (Hotel Maintenance) role at Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown. Base pay range: $21.00/hr. This range is provided by Courtyard by Marriott San Diego Downtown. Responsibilities Perform preventative and repair maintenance to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards. Conduct room inspections and identify repair needs. Install or repair sheetrock and other wall coverings; paint designated areas and items. Install and replace basic electrical fixtures, switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures. Repair furniture and program televisions; troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment. Perform minor plumbing functions; replace and repair heating and cooling pumps; perform preventative maintenance on units. Trace and repair water lines; maintain repair and preventive maintenance records. Ensure work complies with local, state and Federal codes; follow Service Recovery Guidelines and sustainability guidelines (EarthView). Contribute to guest satisfaction and be prepared to cover bell attendant duties during staffing shortages or peak check-in/check-out periods. Follow safety practices and wear protective equipment in accordance with MSDS and OSHA standards. Perform other duties as requested by management. Background and Skills High School diploma and trade school coursework in a related field preferred. Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.
