The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is looking for a Fish Culturist 1 to join our Benner Spring State Fish Hatchery. This position gives you the opportunity to assist in the propagation, care, and stocking of fish species to meet fisheries management goals toward enhancement of fishing opportunities for the general public. As a Fish Culturist 1, you will learn how to collect and select brood stock while handling the fish in a manner that minimizes stress, injury, and mortality. You will also learn how to operate a fish stocking vehicle in a safe and timely manner, load and transport fish, monitor fish, and take appropriate action to deliver the fish in excellent condition. Work involves completing repairs and maintenance to buildings, equipment, and grounds in an effort to maximize efficiency of propagation, care, and stocking.
