Job Description

The Lightship Group has an open position for generator technician with experience, including knowledge of propane/natural gas, small air-cooled engines, basic knowledge of both gas/diesel internal combustion engines, familiar with, both gas and diesel liquid cooled engines. Prefer strong background in electronic/electrical troubleshooting and repair, both AC and DC voltages and use of multimeter, both AC and DC voltage. Must have excellent customer service skills and have a strong work ethic.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
-Valid license, Real ID and clean driving record.
-Basic hand tools and knowledge of use.
-Basic computer skills, including use of laptop as it pertains to receiving correspondence(emails) and service ticket, as well as using Microsoft Office products.
-Pass preemployment drug test and DOT physical.
-Available to respond to emergency after-hour calls as needed.
-Appearance must be clean and neat as we interact with customers on a daily basis.

RESPOSIBILITIES:

-Complete Kohler factory training provided by The Lightship Group.
-Travel to customer sites within required response time to perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose and repairs on a variety of diesel and natural gas generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS).
-Complete required documentation timely and accurately, using company computer system(s) and properly assess and report urgency of all needed repairs.
-Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
