Join the City of South Jordan as a Full-Time Public Works Operations Manager!

Are you a skilled leader with a passion for public service and operational excellence? The City of South Jordan's Public Works Department is looking for a Full-Time Public Works Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate critical support operations across the department. What You'll Do:

• Direct and supervise front office operations and administrative staff, ensuring efficient and high-quality customer service for residents, contractors, and internal teams.
• Lead the department's asset management software systems, coordinate with IT and GIS teams, and ensure accurate data reporting and user training.
• Manage budget planning and monitor departmental expenditures to support strategic and financial goals.
• Coordinate public works IT infrastructure, internal purchasing, contracts, and media efforts.
• Oversee the planning and implementation of department events, internal trainings, and major CIP projects.
• Serve as a key liaison for cemetery operations, including sales and interment scheduling, ensuring compassion and compliance in service delivery.
• Drive the department's communications and social media presence, including writing focus articles and creating public outreach materials.
• Provide professional, diplomatic, and strategic leadership to a high-performing team, while fostering process improvement across all support functions.

Who You Are:

• A highly organized and motivated leader with a Bachelor's Degree in public or business administration (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experienced in managing diverse teams, projects, and administrative systems-with at least four (4) years of professional experience, including two (2) years in a supervisory role.
• Technically proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and GIS tools (ArcView experience a plus).
• An excellent communicator with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
• Possess a valid Utah Class D Driver License and knowledge of public works operations is preferred.
