The greeter is the first and last person every guest interacts with! The greeter handles dining reservations and controls the flow of guests in the dining room. The greeter is the first point of contact for all guests coming into the restaurant, for seating allocations, and for tracking all regular guests and knowing them by name. Service must be courteous, professional, efficient, and consistent with restaurant standards to maximize guest satisfaction.

Compensation:

$18 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • To understand and know food and beverage items on the menu and the ability to make a recommendation.
  • Ensure that the workplace and surrounding area are kept clean and organized at all times.
  • To handle guest inquiries by telephone or in-person, according to the procedure, report guest complaints to a manager.
  • To make table reservations according to procedures and thereby effectively control and maximize the flow of guests.
  • To assist in the operation and service as required.
  • To establish a rapport with our guests, providing recognition and good customer relationships
  • Check the reservation log on any VIP or regulars planning to dine daily to plan for special requests.
  • Communicates constantly with the wait team on the immediate needs of each section.
  • Smile generously when in contact with our guests and always use the guest's name.
  • Be courteous, maintain a professional attitude, and act professionally throughout service.
  • To aid guests with their cocktails when escorting them to their table in the restaurant from the bar.
  • Use proper telephone etiquette according to procedures with a professional, warm attitude.
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings.
  • To escort guests to their tables according to procedure with a professional, warm attitude.
  • Ensure that all menus in circulation are clean and wrinkle-free.
  • Ensure that the reception area and front doors are maintained.
  • Be current on information about the day’s business
  • To perform opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States of America.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written directions, as well as workplace safety signage. 
  • Active listening and observation skills. 
  • Ability to work under pressure and deal with deadlines and stressful situations.
