Pressed Roots is looking for passionate, talented stylists to join our team for the busy holiday season! This seasonal position is perfect for licensed cosmetologists who want to gain experience in a luxury salon environment, earn extra income, and expand their skills working with textured hair.

As a Seasonal Stylist , you’ll deliver exceptional silk blowouts, educate clients on healthy hair care, and provide a top-tier salon experience. Whether you’re home from school, looking to supplement your current schedule, or exploring something new, this short-term role offers a chance to be part of something beautiful during one of our busiest—and most exciting—times of the year.

• Perform expert silk blowouts on all types of textured hair, ensuring flawless results and client satisfaction.
• Educate clients on textured hair care, maintenance, and recommended products.
• Create a warm, welcoming experience through luxury-level hospitality and service.
• Support overall studio cleanliness and organization to maintain Pressed Roots’ high standards.
• Assist the team during peak hours to ensure smooth operations and a positive client experience.

Requirements

• Active and valid Texas cosmetology license required.
• Attendance and successful completion of Pressed Roots’ three-day Pressed Roots Certification Course prior to working on the floor (course provided by Pressed Roots).
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Strong styling and finishing techniques; experience with silk blowouts preferred.
• Team-oriented, reliable, and positive attitude—ready to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
• Availability to work weekends and extended holiday hours as needed (November–January).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 9 hours) while performing hair services.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, including holding and manipulating blow dryers, round brushes, flat irons, and scissors.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds, such as styling tools and product inventory.
• Ability to reach overhead for styling, cleaning tasks, and retrieving necessary supplies.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel to access styling tools, assist clients, and maintain overall studio cleanliness.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
