Job Summary and Qualifications JOB SUMMARY
Senior Application Engineer is expected to seek out new technologies and choose the right one for the job. These decisions are made in the planning phase of a project with input from the Senior Application Developer. The right decision will allow the team to deliver maximum functionality at a faster time to market for the product while reducing the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the solution. Create the design, development, configuration, customization and support of software related Case Management Services for HCA Healthcare. Responsible for partnering with developers, technicians, analysts, and business process experts on strategic programs, projects, and activities to support the technology roadmap. Develops positive relationships with business and technology stakeholders. Manages multiple development projects at a time independently or part of a larger team. Ensures repeatable processes are documented and adheres to HCA design and development standards. Provides on call production support as needed to support the Case Management services teams. May require travel to complete project work. Coaches, mentors and develops junior team members on HCA Healthcare software engineer standards.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Analyze business requirements to build, unit test and implement solutions
- Complete application development tasks as assigned and communicate roadblocks
- Follow software development standards and best practices during all phases of planning and execution
- Actively participate in application design sessions
- Document technical requirements
- Resolve application issues
- Has the ability to understand underlying infrastructure and how to design to applications to take advantage of it
- Has the ability to work in a high-paced, collaborative environment, following agile project management methodology, and to use related tools such as continuous integration, release management, and work tracking
- Is eager to learn our technology and business stacks as well as demonstrate an ongoing dedication to innovating on emerging technologies and trends
- Practices and adheres to the "Code of Conduct" philosophy and "Mission and Value Statement".
- Ensure quality in the definition and development of product software specifications utilizing best practices and processes
- Responsible for the full life-cycle process from design to development, testing, product release and maintenance.
- Responsible for the development and utilization of metrics to measure productivity and effective operational processes.
- Responsible creation of a personal development plan focused on leadership and technical acumen.
- May be required to manage vendor team members as part of project work.
- Assist in implementing and refining a successful product development process, including identification of key decision points, decision-making matrices highlighting risks/benefits associated with critical decision options, and application of appropriate portfolio management principles
Technical Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs
- Large enterprise application deployment experience from design through support
- Hands on experience with system integration (API design/build, data conversion)
- Experience troubleshooting end user access and data issues in large corporate environment
- Ability to work with non-technical end users to resolve issues through in person, phone, email or web conference
- HTML/Javascript/.NET
- Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar
- Experience building and supporting enterprise applications in Azure using services such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, and Azure Static Web Sites

- Bachelor's Degree Preferred

- Bachelor or Master Degree in computer science or information management or relevant work experience (optional)

- 20% travel required as requested to meet business needs (local to various HCA offices)
