Summary of Position:

In this role, you will have an opportunity to be part of an IT Operations team for a fast-growing life sciences organization. This is a high impact, high visibility role! You will form close partnerships with many departments across the company and immediately have influence on not only the applications but also business processes, operational efficiency, and vendor management.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with a deep understanding of Okta to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud operations, identity management, and security, with a focus on Okta integration and administration. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage cloud infrastructure and ensure seamless operations while implementing and maintaining robust identity and access management systems.

This role reports to the Sr. Director of IT Operations but will work with ALL departments across the organization. Level determination will be based upon expertise and years of experience.    

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. Including but not limited to Okta, AWS, Microsoft Azure, SecureW2, O365.
• Okta Administration: Manage and configure our Okta environment, including user provisioning, app access provisioning, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• Identity and Access Management (IAM): Implement and maintain IAM policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard sensitive data.
• Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline cloud operations and identity management tasks.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor cloud systems and Okta services for potential issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions promptly.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, Security, and IT, to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud and identity management systems.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud and Okta configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend and implement improvements to cloud and identity management systems.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Okta.
• Technical Skills: Okta, O365, AWS, Microsoft Entra
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in Okta administration, including user provisioning, access provisioning, SSO, and MFA.
• Experience with IAM concepts and best practices.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
• Understanding of network security principles and practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Okta Certified Professional or Administrator certification.
• Knowledge of identity management solutions (e.g., Azure AD/ Entra).
• Familiarity with compliance standards and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
