SUMMARY

The Spa Director (“Director/a de Spa”) is responsible for managing the quality, service, and profitability of the Spa and Fitness Center. This role leads and develops a professional team to deliver exceptional guest experiences, maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety, and drive operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintains a positive, professional appearance and demeanor with guests and staff.
  • Oversees daily operations of the spa and fitness center to ensure the highest level of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Leads recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of spa and fitness associates.
  • Develops, updates, and markets the spa treatment menu and luxury service packages.
  • Creates and implements marketing plans and promotions to increase spa revenue and utilization.
  • Manages the spa reservation system and ensures efficient appointment scheduling.
  • Collaborates with other hotel departments to ensure smooth, coordinated guest service.
  • Maintains inventory control and manages purchasingof spa products and supplies.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, sanitation, and licensing regulations.
  • Oversees cleanliness, maintenance, and luxury presentation of all spa and fitness areas.
  • Trains staff in company safety and emergency procedures.
  • Participates in resort leadership meetings and contributes to overall guest satisfaction initiatives.
  • Cultivates a culture of hospitality by ensuring every guest interaction is personalized, attentive, and memorable.
  • Develops and implements wellness programs and signature treatments that differentiate the spa.
  • Monitors guest satisfaction through direct feedback and reviews, promptly addressing concerns to maintain an exceptional reputation.
  • Partners with product vendors to curate exclusive spa retail offerings and maintain high-quality treatment supplies.
  • Oversees budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the spa department to maximize profitability without compromising quality.
  • Leads ongoing staff training in luxury service standards, advanced treatment techniques, and product knowledge to elevate team expertise.
  • Ensures the spa environment reflects luxury aesthetics and ambiance, coordinating with maintenance and design teams for continuous improvements.
  • Maintains awareness of competitor spas and industry innovations to keep offerings fresh, competitive, and appealing to discerning guests.
  • Coordinates special events, VIP experiences, and partnerships to enhance the spa’s prestige and guest engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or any equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a spa within a hotel, resort, or similar industry is a plus.
  • A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
  • Experience running a shift, scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, running day-to-day operations, hospitality & customer service skills a plus.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Ability to be poised under pressure with continued smiles and maintains a highly diplomatic attitude with challenging guests and under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
