Position Summary The Review Appraiser reviews state and owner appraisals of complex property to be acquired in connection with state improvement projects and all local projects which involve state and federal funding. The Review Appraiser is required to make complex and subjective judgments in order that the rights of individual citizens are protected, and the just compensation offer is reasonable, justified and adequately documented. The Review Appraiser is the appraisal representative of the Bureau and is responsible for giving functional guidance in all aspects of this process. The Review Appraiser shall share appraisal knowledge and skills as a mentor and trainer of Region personnel in settings varying from one-on-one, on the job training, small work groups or as a part of a team putting on statewide training. As a team member, together with the Section Chief, Bureau Director and Region real estate staff, the Review Appraiser will help develop and implement changes in appraisal policy.
