Primary Responsibilities:
This position will provide project analyst support for the administration and management of UMCS data repositories (including SharePoint) to ensure secure, accessible, and user-friendly access to project documentation and technical data.
Primary responsibilities include:
The development and maintenance of document libraries.
Implementation of data management best practices, ensuring compliance with Program Office standards and NAVAIRSYSCOM data management policies to include review of document standardization (meta-data tagging, naming conventions, …) to promote consistency and streamline data retrieval.
Collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of data related to project activities, including technical data packages (TDPs), milestones, schedules, and project deliverables.
Assist in integrating engineering data (including CAD files, verification data, and modeling outputs) into the broader project data framework when applicable.
Provide technical training and support to team members on data management tools, systems, and best practices.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineers, logisticians, analysts, project leads, and government customers, to ensure accurate data capture and alignment with project goals. This includes participating in technical and programmatic meetings, assisting with the preparation of materials, action tracking, and status reporting.
Support overall project tracking and reporting activities by developing data visualizations, spreadsheets, and reports that inform program leadership and stakeholders.
Tasks Performed:
Demonstrated Knowledge:
Administer SharePoint site architecture, including permissions, content organization, and process automation to improve efficiency.
Manage technical data repositories, ensuring submissions are properly uploaded, named, tagged, reviewed, and archived per Program Office processes.
Create and maintain project trackers using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or PowerPoint to monitor data and project progress.
Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from program activities, preparing reports for project leadership. This includes supporting audit preparation ensuring documentation, baselines, and compliance records are complete and up to date.
Apply project/data management principles to maintain awareness of project status, schedule deadlines, and resource allocations.
Assist with integrating technical data into engineering and project workflows, including CAD models, verification data, and system engineering documentation.
Provide input to improve data management procedures, recommending solutions to enhance data accuracy, accessibility, and usability.
Education/Experience:
Experience in data management, data collection, and analysis in technical or scientific environments.
Experience supporting project management functions, including tracking schedules, deliverables, and documentation.
JUNIOR: A Junior level person within a labor category has less than 3 years of experience related to the functional duties for that labor category and a BA/BS degree.
JOURNEYMAN: A Journeyman level person within a labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience related to the functional duties for that labor category and a BA/BS degree.
Allowable Education/ Experience Substitutions:
Six (6) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree. Associate’s Degree plus four (4) years additional relevant work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
Desired Experience:
Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS) mission control systems.
Experience with NAVAIR engineering processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Google Suite, MS TEAMS, and SharePoint.
Familiarity with CAD software (e.g. Fusion 360, Onshape) and understanding of basic engineering concepts is a plus.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical data processes to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
